Possesses 25+ years healthcare leadership experience with increasing responsibility in a variety of hospital, physician, managed care, consulting and vendor environments in for-profit and not-for-profit organizations focusing on all entry points to the revenue cycle process. Cheri has lead seeral operational improvement initiatives for up to 1,000+ hospital owned physician organization. While in these roles, she was the sr. leader responsible for the development and implementation of all the operational policies and procedures for the physician network. In addition, she has personally managed up to eight practices concurrently while reducing accounts receivable days in a twelve month period for 100+ days to 33.
Cheri was the project lead for two large scale academic hospital facilities employing 800+ physicians performing revenue cycle turnarounds delivering results inmore than $130M in net revenue recovery for the hospital by implementing areas of improvement including Scheduling, Patient Access, Health Information Management, Billing, Collections, Managed Care Contracting and CDM/Charge Capture. She personally has developed and implemented two large central scheduling call centers for physician referrals. One was for a $1.5B hospital organization with more than 500 employees holding responsibility for Scheduling, Patient Access, HIM / Charge Capture, Business Office, Managed Care Contracting, and Vendor Management . In addition, she has performed extensive managed contracting for physician providers and payers.
For more than five years, she was a regional director of provider relations for the largest managed care company in the country managing 3,500 physicians negotiating fee for service and capitation contracts. In addition, she developed a national program called Care Advocacy to increase physician relationships and reduce high risk patient costs. Ms. Kane possesses a Fellowship from the American College of Medical Practice Executives for Medical Group (ACMPE) Management Association Fellowship (FHFMA) with Healthcare Financial Managers Association. In addition, she recently completed her project management certification in 2014 and received her PMP. She is a frequent writer for HFMA and MGMA publications and newsletters.
